Department of Civil Engineering at Thakur College of Engineering and Technology was established in academic year 2014-2015.The department is known for its reputed faculty having expertise in diverse fields. Apart from academic events, the department also encourages its students to engage in extracurricular and co - curricular activities essential for development of organizational skills. The department is committed to nurture rigor amongst its students and is confident of becoming at par with the recognition at national and international level. The department continuously encourages its students to undertake mini, minor and major projects based on socio-economic issues. The Department provides consultancy services backed by experienced team proficient domain knowledge in various sectors related to Civil Engineers. Department is accredited by Tier II, NBA for 3 years, 1st Cycle Accreditation w.e.f. 1st July 2021. Department is accredited by Tier I, NBA (Washington Accord) for 3 years, 1st Cycle Accreditation w.e.f. 1st July 2024.
The programme structure is based on Choice Based Semester and Grading System having a duration of two years. The choice based grading system offers ample flexibility to learners while selecting optional course at the Department & Institute level. The syllabus is peer reviewed by experts from industries and in sync with current & future trends in Civil Engineering. The PG programme is aimed at preparing specialized engineers who can increase efficiency or create a better future through a creative, innovative solution and find themselves in high demand across a wide range of sectors.
Teaching Assistantship and Research Assistantship are offered to students to meet the cost of their studies, other benefits include career advising, placement assistance, access to alumni network industry connections and guidance for doctoral studies.
