Activity Based Learning
The Objective of ABL course is to prepare students for Leadership and Excellence in their life roles by continually engaging students in both individual and team activities that explore important issues or phenomena, use multiple media and technologies, create products that embody the results of the students explorations, and call the students to explain their work and products to adult and student audience. This activity is conducted in the first week of academic start and is evaluated by mentors. This course is theme based and all activities are aligned to the central theme.
In this course activities such as personality development (TAT WAT and SRT Test), Case Study or Story writing, Lecturette (Extempore speech), Group Discussion, Survey Designing, Blog Writing with a connection to Society, Drama/ skit. etc are conducted. All activities are evaluated on an individual and team basis by faculty members.
This course will help them to think and develop presence of mind, handle situations and resolve the problems arising due to given situations and also give them wings of imagination with self-expression in the topic. Students also get an opportunity to explore real time challenges and display their talent.
Project Based Learning
Project Based Learning is a credit course developed with an objective to explore various opportunities in different sectors and domains, Identify and address prospects and challenges in them with Collaborating Learning of Core subjects and ABL (Activity Based Learning), PS (Professional Skills) and ESD (Employment Skills Development). It provides deeper engagement and interaction with learning content. It is also fostering 21st century skills like collaboration and communication. This activity is conducted for SE and TE Students from III Semester to VI Sem. The activity is conducted in the Department of Civil Engineering. It is usually conducted during the 2nd week from the commencement of the semester. The activity is conducted in two parts, one week: During this the background of the theme is given. Complete Semester: Implementation of the project is done. The main aim of this is product development, so the PBL activity is planned in stages starting from TRIZ 40 Inventive Principle Based on Graduate Attributes in Semester III, Design thinking covering INSPIRATION, RESEARCH, IDEATION, IMPLEMENTATION in Semester IV, Project management in session V and Finally on 7Cs of product development in Semester VI.
Research Based Learning
Research based Learning is focused to engage the learner in research by upgrading domain knowledge by participation in technical quiz and debate, critical thinking, innovative idea generation and technical writing. It provides deeper engagement and interaction with learning content. It is also fostering 21st century skills like collaboration and communication. This activity is conducted for TE and BE Students from V Semester to VIII Semester. The activity is conducted in the Department of Civil Engineering. Specific labs are allotted to the students for the same. It is usually conducted during the 2nd week from the commencement of the semester along with other HME activities. The activity is conducted in four parts. Semester V: RBL I, Semester VI: RBL II, Semester VII: RBL III, Semester VIII: RBL VI. The main objective is product development. This course is focused to engage the learner in research using critical thinking, problem solving, technical writing related to upcoming latest technologies.
